DAY ONE
Morning
Your first stop is the renowned Billy Graham Center Museum with its fascinating "History of Evangelism in America" exhibit, stirring "Walk Through the Gospel" presentation, and uplifting "Life and Ministry of Billy Graham" display, taking you from his childhood dreams to the beginnings of his worldwide evangelistic ministry and beyond.
Afternoon
After lunch on your own in quaint downtown Wheaton, get a stunning glimpse of exotic ancient India at BAPS Mandir, the largest traditional Hindu temple in the U.S. Gazing at its intricately carved pinnacles, domes and fabulous mural ceilings, you'll gain a richer understanding of the beautiful, gentle ways of the Hindu faith.
Then, it's just a quick 20 minutes drive to Naperville where you can experience the simple beauty of the Century Memorial Chapel at the Naper Settlement Living History Museum Village and see why it's been a favorite site for weddings since the 1880s.
Evening
After dinner at a restaurant of your choice, feel free to attend one of the area's special events or sit in on a lecture at one of the local colleges or universities.
DAY TWO
Morning
After a hearty breakfast, make the short trip to view St. Procopius Abbey, an architectural gem that is home to a Benedictine monastic community founded in 1885, and educational apostolates at Benedictine University in Lisle . Right across the street, the Benedictine Sisters of Sacred Heart Monastery welcome visitors to tour their beautiful chapel and Mary of Lourdes grotto.
Afternoon
Cherish the peaceful presence of the National Shrine of St. Therese, or "The Little Flower", in Darien. A short drive away, admire The Portiuncula Chapel at the Mayslake Peabody Estate in Oak Brook, an exquisitel replica of the legendary Italian chapel where St. Francis of Assisi received his call to serve. Then, on to Oak Park for lunch and a tour of the Unity Temple, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
