Revolutionary War Re-enactment Ever wondered what war time was like during the Revolutionary War? Find out during Cantigny's Revolutionary War Re-enactment. Cantigny will be overrun with soldier's giving a history lesson on camp life, military artillery and war time during this late 17th century battle. More than 600 Revolutionary War re-enactors from the Northwest Territory Alliance will consume the battle field (Parade Field) twice a day, firing cannons and muskets. |

The Seldoms at The Morton Arboretum Dancin’ through the roots! Come see Chicago’s hottest dance troupe perform an original dance among Steelroots: Tobin at The Morton Arboretum, an exhibition of 14 monumental sculptures. This fine art representing abstract tree roots inspired “The Seldoms” dancers to create a one-of-a-kind performance. The mesmerizing moves will be infused with rhythm, colors and sounds. The performance will move to different locations amongst the Steelroots collection. Lawn chairs, blankets, snacks and water, bug spray are recommended. All ages.

Lecture: “It’s Going to be a Bumpy Ride: Victorian Transportation & Pub Culture" Naper Settlement Research Associate Bryan Ogg will be giving a lecture, “It’s Going to be a Bumpy Ride: Victorian Transportation & Pub Culture,” at noon Sunday, Sept. 12, in the Pre-Emption House Tavern at Naper Settlement. Sponsored jointly by the Greater Chicago Chapter of the Victorian Society of America (GCCVSA) and the Naperville Heritage Society, the event includes a lecture on transportation technology and the community of travel in the Victorian Era; a private tour of the Martin Mitchell Mansion (built in 1883 by George Martin and known as Pinecraig); museum admission and luncheon hors d’oeuvres. Admission is $25 for GCCVSA members. The $30 admission for non-members of the GCCVSA includes the lecture, tour, museum admission and luncheon, and a 2011 membership in the Greater Chicago Chapter of the Victorian Society of America, as well as reduced admission to the remaining 2010 events. |

We're honored to welcome back the Chicago Rush players and Adrenaline Rush Dancers who will be hosting children's activities.

The tale unfolds when Lord Edgar Hillcres and his new young bride, the second Lady Hillcrest, arrive at the estate.
